refugee-hope   Please be part of our Refugee Hope Box Collection for Refugee Children! Over 7 million Syrian Children are affected by war but there is a way you and your family can help! Fleeing conflict and in search of safety, refugee families must travel hundreds of miles on foot across Europe to reach their asylum destination. The onset of winter has only exacerbated the situation for families. Grassroots NGOs and volunteers have been filling the void by providing needed support to refugee families and children. Operation Refugee Child will distribute backpacks with basic necessities to bring health, comfort, safety and warmth to refugee children and families. Please pick up a Ziploc bag from the religious school or temple office and fill with essential supplies (attached to the bag).  Drop off your Ziploc bag into the blue bins in the coat closet at Temple. We will box up all collected supplies and send the contents to Operation Refugee Child located in California where volunteers will transfer the contents to a backpack and deliver to a refugee child or family. Cash or gift cards to support this effort can be donated by leaving them in the Social Action Mailbox or giving them to Suzanne Klar (973) 476-5197.  This effort will continue until the end of January, but we are going to have a separate December and January mailing.  Please have packages in for the December mailing by December 9th. Any  questions about this effort, please contact Suzanne Klar @ suzanneklar@aol.com.  Thank you in advance for participating in this mitzvah!
