Group Seventy women attended Temple Emanu-El's Sisterhood’s Membership event on Sunday, October 25th. They enjoyed a cocktail hour with delicious appetizers, an Italian dinner catered by Ricci's, wine, and dessert. The group was entertained and charmed by magician Ali Shelley who has won numerous awards, including the Society of American Magicians’ Most Promising Young Magician, for originality and creativity. Ali’s act combines her love of travel (she is also a flight attendant) with her love of magic and she made the group laugh a lot too. Ali said, “Your Sisterhood is a warm and special group of ladies and it was an honor and pleasure to perform for them. You are blessed to have each other." There were many winners of the 46 beautiful baskets with items and gift certificates donated by temple members, local merchants and organizations around town including restaurants, show tickets, spa services, artwork, and so much more. There was something for everyone. The table prizes were donated by Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza, and the lucky 50/50 winner was Linda Barr who left $310.00 richer. Sisterhood collected cans of tuna, jars of peanut butter, boxes of mac & cheese and toilet paper (things always needed) to donate to CHOW, the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse and area pantries to support the anti-hunger campaign led by Temple Emanu-El's Social Action Committee. As a way of saying thank you the Sisterhood gifted a raffle ticket for each item donated.   Here is some of the buzz from the Sisterhood members who attended:
"The Sisterhood dinner event was fantastic! Everything was perfect - from the food to the table décor to the marvelous company of fellow congregants. A million thanks to your tireless efforts to keep Sisterhood engaged!" "You did a phenomenal job in planning, hiring, finding vendors, setting up, and 'herding' all of us to set up as beautifully as we were set up last night. The whole evening was amazing. The magician was funny, clever, good entertainment." "It was AWESOME. Never been in a room with such happy, wonderful women." "Thank you so much. The event went smoothly without a snag, everyone enjoyed themselves, the magician was fabulous, the food was great, prizes beautifully presented and highly valued, tables attractively set with lovely themed centerpieces and the food was delicious." "The evening was flawless. Everything looked beautiful and tasted good. Entertainment and prizes were excellent. A good time was had by all!"
It takes a lot of love and support to plan a special event to run as smoothy as this did. A very big thank you goes to the extraordinary Sisterhood members that worked so hard to plan, create unique centerpieces, shop, platter, set up, greet, check in, wrap & transport baskets, sell raffle tickets, clean up and everything in between: Reina, Susan P., Judi K., Heidi, Linda, Sharon S., Debbie, Bobi, Helane, Jill, Gale, Barbara, Carol, Jean, Lynn, Shari, Ali, Bobbi, Sandy, Sherry, Amy, Audrey, Sharon B., Michele, Gail. Thank you to the three men at the event: Custodians, Sean and Carlos, who took care of whatever was needed to ensure a great event. My loving husband, Robert Allen, who is always by my side tended to the sound, voice over, and documented this special event with his amazing photography. Enjoy the photo gallery below. It truly was a magical evening. It is an honor to spend the evening with so many extraordinary women of all ages. I love being with my temple family.   Holli Ehrlich, Sisterhood President
