caring-committee gemilut hasadim, literally meaning  "the giving of loving-kindness," is a fundamental social value in the everyday lives of Jews. As part of Sisterhood's vision to support Community and Service, we are taking the lead on forming a Caring Committee. The role of the Committee will be to recommend policies and help implement practical ways to outreach and support members of the Temple Community in times of loss, illness and celebration. Anything we can do to enhance Temple Emanu-El's reputation as a caring and supportive community can be of great value. I would like to invite All Congregants to a our next meeting  January 5, 2017 at 7:00 pm in the Hillel Room.  I plan to review ideas generated a few years back, practices at other temples, thoughts from Rabbi Marc Disick and Susan Cosden, and hear everyone's ideas. While I envision Sisterhood will provide great support, this committee will also be part of overall engagement strategies. I encourage everyone to invite other Temple members (women & men) that you feel would be interested in joining.  Please contact me via email or phone if would like additional information.
